The Sony Ericsson C905 is set to become the new standard for camera phones when it’s released in October (just in time for Christmas!). Forget the 5 megapixel camera phones of last year - the C905 comes with a huge 8 megapixel camera, some serious camera wizardry to get the best out of all those pixels, and a huge range of other features, such as HSDPA, WiFi and aGPS, as well. The question is - how well does it work? Only one way to find out - read on after the jump for our Sony Ericsson C905 review.

First of all, an overview of the C905. It is, as you can see, a slider phone, with a keypad that’s apparently extremely easy to use, and a simple sliding design that actually looks rather good.

It’s not the smallest of phones, but then it wouldn’t be, given the amount of features that Sony Ericsson’s managed to cram into the thing!

Music has really give boost to its acessories Market Research specialist GfK has said that in sales for June 2008, £1m of Mobile speakers have been sold - compared with just £146,000 in May 2007! In a related stat, handsets with MP3 players and/or FM Radios now account for 65% of the market, which has increased from 44% last year.

This research dovetails in nicely with the launch of Nokia’s “Comes with Music” and Vodafone’s unlimited music service, powered by Omnifone - clearly, if you are going to download the tracks you are going to play them - and that’s either going to be via headphones, or speakers (it’s just a shame that a percentage of the music-dowloading populous choose to blare tracks out of their mobile device internal speaker, typically whilst walking along!)

Obviously device feature-sets have been growing too, with more storage possible on-device (either internally, or on memory card), higher-spec “player” apps, and in some cases, specialised audio circuitry.

The Sony Ericsson Z series phones might soon bid adieu if rumors are to be believed. We will most probably see a new device as a perfect replacement for Z750 (Sony Ericsson’s first tri-band HSDPA and quad-band EDGE enabled phone supporting Java Platform - the T767, as Xell from Esato board has it. It comes packed with a 3.2-megapixel auto focus camera, HSDPA, GPS, 2.2-inch QVGA display and LED signal strip. Although now it is still in the concept stage.
