Leading consumer brands and telecoms companies have joined Nokia’s new media network to advertise their services to Nokia users across the globe.
Nokia claimed its ‘Nokia Media Network’ of companies will be able to place adverts on mobile websites, including Nokia’s own, and pitch them to specific demographics.
It said results already show click-through rates of 10 per cent from adverts placed through it.
More than 70 companies have so far signed up to the Nokia Media Network. Nokia has set up offices for media sales in Beijing, Boston, Chicago, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Helsinki, London, Los Angeles, Madrid, Milan, Minneapolis, Mumbai, Munich, New York, Paris, Singapore and Shanghai.
Nokia vice president and head of Nokia interactive Mike Baker said: “The biggest brands in the world trust Nokia with their mobile advertising, because they know the Nokia Media Network enables them to reach the largest, highest quality audience on mobile and provides the best return on investment.”
Nokia has signed a provisional deal with Orange to cooperate and share marketing resources for a range of services, including mapping, web searches and advertising.
