Yahoo and Microsoft have concluded discussions without reaching any sort of merger agreement, according to headlines Thursday afternoon on the Web site of the Wall Street Journal.
The report said Microsoft is no longer willing to pay $33 per share to acquire Yahoo. The software titan pulled its offer to buy Yahoo last month, but the two companies have been engaged in talks since to see if a deal can be reached. Shares of Yahoo were down more than 10% late Thursday afternoon on the news, while Microsoft was trading up 1.7%.
